Sandbach Heath (St. John’s) Preschool started its journey in a portakabin in 1985. The management committee raised sufficient funds to build a permanent brick building. The building was dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Wendy Lea, our first manager who sadly passed away in 1993. The building was called “The Wendy House. The pre-school is committee run group situated on St. John’s C.E. (aided) School site. We are registered with OFSTED. The pre-school is an accredited member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and is registered with the Charity Commission
Our committee run preschool is at the heart of our local community. We pride ourselves on providing a caring environment that puts children and their families at the centre of everything we do.
Our aim is to provide all children with a safe, caring environment where children learn and develop through play. At St John’s we aim to nurture children to give them the confidence and ability to develop socially and to help prepare children as they take their next steps into reception class. Children are treated with respect and care regardless of ability, race and culture.
Our setting follows the government guidelines set out in the ‘ Early Years Foundation Stage’ documentation. This helps to support the critical early years of a child’s development, when key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentration, working together and co-operation evolve.
With parents and staff working together we hope to provide the best possible start for the children and a firm foundation for their future learning.
The setting is supervised by Hazel Hilton (Manager) and is supported by AlanaTudor (Deputy Manager), Gill Fithon, Berny Knight and Jackie Tudor (Two-Year-Old-Lead Professional).
